An Encounter With God

You can tell those who have truly encountered God from those who have not by their respect for His laws. A person who has truly encountered the living God can never forget it, and will live in constant remembrance of Him. A man who has never encountered God will live only in constant remembrance of himself. Any man who has never encountered God need only ask, and God will reveal Himself to him, after which his life will be forever changed.

Sometimes I look back on my past and present state of my life, have I trully changed? To be honest, any encounter with God will change something in a person's life, some is the perspective, some in knowledge, some others...I don't know. What do you see in me?

In Him,
~Lawrence~

Dear Lawrence,

You asked what I see in you... well, I can't write it all out here, but let me list a few. I didn't know you before you were a Christian, and if I remember correctly you've been a Christian as long as you can remember. But I did know you before God made some of the big changes in you that He has made in the past year or so. Your faith in God is stronger, more sure, and more steady than it was a year ago. Your willingness to serve God full-time wherever He leads (those are your words, not mine) is much stronger and steadier now as well. When you do hear from God, you know it, such as the situation with the college there. God has been purifying your heart, which was already great so far as I was concerned, but it's even more so now. You are strong in spirit, yet remain malleable in the hands of God, and your love for and trust in Him is steadily growing. Your desire for His will in your life has increased, and while I know you still struggle at times, there has been a definite change, especially in the past few months since joining AIM. Every time I chat with you now it's like you're a different person... sure, you're Lawrence, but a stronger, more firmly devoted man of God than the Lawrence I knew before, and I am overjoyed at the changes I've seen in you.

So, to answer your question, a lot has changed, and the more you get to know God, the more you become who He created you to be. Keep on chasin' after Him, and trust Him to do the rest, including all that is best for you. Let's talk again soon.

In Christ,
Brooke
